Poor but intelligent students who graduated from Senior High School in the province of Iloilo may now avail of college scholarship under the Iskolar Sang Iloilo Program (ISIP) this academic year 2018-2019.
A total of 125 incoming provincial government scholars for School Year 2018-2019 will be accepted under the program. Check application details and schedules of written examination below.
The Iskolar Sang Iloilo program is a college scholarship implemented by the Iloilo Provincial Government which aims to assist poor but deserving students in the Province of Iloilo by providing them the opportunity to pursue college education.
This Iloilo Provincial Scholarship Program was approved on on April 29, 1996 through Provincial Ordinance No. 20. The courses covered by the scholarship are Bachelor of Science in Agriculture, Fisheries, Forestry, Cooperative Development, Education, Information Technology, Accounting, Management and other related social sciences. The scholarship is only for applicants who are going to enroll in any state colleges and universities in the Province of Iloilo.
WHO ARE QUALIFIED?
1.) Senior high school graduates belonging to the upper 10% of the graduating class;
2.) With annual gross family income of not more than P150,000.00;
3.) Must be a bona fide resident of the Province of Iloilo; and
4.) Must enrol in any state university or college in the Province of Iloilo.
The Provincial Scholarship Management Board chaired by Governor Art Defensor has approved the increase in the following:
1.) Monthly stipend P3,500/month (from P2,500/ month);
2.) Book allowance P2,000/semester (from P1,000/semester); and
3.) Clothing allowance P1,000/ semester (from P1,000/year). This will be effective starting school year 2018-2019.
HOW TO APPLY:
1 . Applicants must fill out the Scholarship Application Form which is available at the Secretariat of ISIP in Human Resource Management and Development Office of the Iloilo Provincial Capitol.
2. Secure the following required documents (forms are included in the Application Form):
a. Certification signed by the School Principal that the applicant belongs to the upper 10% of the graduating class.
b. Certification signed by the Punong Barangay that the applicant is a bona fide resident of the barangay and of good moral character.
c. Photocopy of the applicant’s school identification card.
d. One (1) 2″x2″ recent photo of the applicant
e. Certification signed by the Municipal Social Welfare & Development Officer that the applicant belongs to the economically disadvantaged family. (Requested from your Municipal Social Welfare Officer)
3. Submit the above listed documents to the following (for screening):

• ESTANCIA: May 5, 2018 (Saturday) – 9am/ 12noon Venue: NIPSC, Main
• AJUY: May 6, 2018 (Sunday) – 9am/ 12noon Venue: NIPSC, Ajuy
• PASSI CITY: May 12, 2018 (Saturday) – 9am/ 12noon Venue: ABC Hall, Passi City
• BANATE: May 13, 2018 (Sunday) – 9am/ 12noon Venue: Banate Municipal Hall
• ILOILO PROVINCIAL CAPITOL: May 19, 2018 (Saturday) – 8am/ 1pm
• ILOILO PROVINCIAL CAPITOL: May 20, 2018 (Sunday) – 8am/ 1pm 6.
Results of Written Scholarship Evaluation Examination shall be released on the 2nd week of June 2018. All passers will be notified of the schedule of the final interview in June 2018, preferably by phone (contact number must be properly filled out in the application form).
Final Results of the qualifiers for school year 2018-2019 will be released on the 4th week of July 2018.
