If you have Dengue fever and confined in accredited hospitals or primary care facilities, you are covered by Philhealth benefit package.
Philhealth assured the public that they are ready to give financial assistance for confinements of dengue patients.
“PhilHealth correspondingly insures its eligible patients with dengue (with or without warning) and severe dengue at P10,000 and P16,000, respectively,” said BGen Ricardo C. Morales, PhilHealth’s President and Chief Executive Officer.
“These benefits are available at Level 1, 2, and 3 hospitals. In addition, non-severe dengue could be treated in primary care facilities with a package of P7,000.”
To summarize the Dengue benefit packages:
- P16,000 for Severe Dengue, confined at Level 1,2 at 3 hospitals
- P10,000 for Dengue (with or without warning signs), confined at Level 1,2 at 3 hospitals
- P7,000 for Dengue patiens confined in Primary Care Facilities
To avail of the benefits, Philhealth said that members must meet the following qualifications: active membership or with qualifying contributions; listed as qualified depended; have not reached the 45 days benefit limit; admitted in Philhealth accredited facility not shorted than 24 hours; and attended by Philhealth accredited doctor.
Philhealth added that No Balance Billing (NBB) policy also applies when confined in government hospitals for members under Indigent and Sponsored Program as well as Senior Citizen patients.
Even non-PhilHealth members can also avail themselves of benefits when needing confinement due to dengue complications.
“Those with no active PhilHealth coverage can avail of our benefits thru the Point of Service (POS) program where they are instantly afforded with health insurance. If assessed to be financially incapable by the hospitals’ social worker, the government will pay for a year’s premium at the time of their availment,” added Morales.
